Most people think dyslexia is only a reading problem, because this is the common understanding of the disability. However, it also had problems with math, handwriting and many symptoms of ADD, such as staying focused or sitting still. Some students displayed problems with just one or two areas; some had problems with all three, some just with reading.

Understanding the true nature of a problem is a prerequisite to finding a real solution. If any problem isn't fully understood, attempts to solve it won't be very effective.

The Davis® approach resolves the root causes of problems experienced by individuals with language-based learning difficulties. What Ron Davis and his team of co-workers did was to take the understanding of what causes dyslexia and produce a treatment that successfully removes this cause. Using the Davis® methods of dyslexia thousands of children and adults have been able to take control of their learning process. They can learn to read, write and study efficiently when using methods geared to their unique learning style.

The ideal time for an intervention program is before these behaviors become lifelong patterns. But, it is never too late. Dyslexics of all ages - from seven to seventy - have been able to fill in the gaps with the Davis methods.

In addition to the basic Davis® techniques, other specialized Davis® methods for conditions such as ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), ADHD (Hyperactivity), Dysgraphia (Handwriting) and Dyscalculia (Maths) are used when appropriate to meet the individual needs.
