| Constance started her career path as a relief
teacher and moved onto the social service sector serving for
more than 26 years. She was Administrator of a Children's
Home for 7 years, then Head of a Residential Home for the
Physically Disabled for 16 years. Her last position was Director
of a Family Service Centre.
In the course of her work, she saw many parents anguishing
in their dyslexic children's difficulties and frustrations.
She saw the true picture of dyslexia as that of someone trying
to cope with living in a confusing world, making mistakes,
not knowing why those mistakes were made and trying to survive.
As there was no Davis®
Facilitator in Singapore and neither was the training available
then, Constance gave up her job and pursued the Davis Facilitator
training in Burlingame, California. Her stay in the U.S. for
the duration of the course gave her the opportunity to practice
her skills and work with a variety of clients. Besides serving
the Singapore area Constance is willing to travel to destinations
outside Singapore to provide the program.
Constance also applies the Davis®
Reading Program for Young Learners to tutor children less
than eight years of age.
